ジェーンズ・アディクション解散後、ペリー・ファレル、ステファン・パーキンスと共に結成。
92年のロラパルーザⅡで予告なしでのデビュー・ライヴを敢行。ミクスチャー・ロックの中にゴシックや民族音楽的なアレンジを施したサウンドは、ペリーのエキセントリックかつメランコリックなヴォーカルを更に唯一無二な存在として知らしめた。 93年にデビュー・アルバム『ポルノ・フォー・パイロス』をリリース。
96年途中までレコーディングに参加していたマーティン（b）脱退後、2ndにしてラスト・アルバムとなる『グッド・ゴッズ・アージ』をリリース。このアルバムにはペリーのフェイヴァリット・バンド“バウハウス”の進化系となるラヴ＆ロケッツ、RHCPのフリー、デイヴ・ナヴァロ（ex ジェーンズ・アディクション）等豪華ゲストが参加した。
