この作品は、彼らが1997年にサンフランシスコにある歴史的会場、ザ・フィルモアにて開催した、今もなお語り継がれる20公演にわたるレジデンシー公演の模様を収録した、興奮のライヴ・アルバムだ。20公演のうち6公演がレコーディングされており、その中から最高潮の瞬間ばかりを選りすぐった楽曲に加え、トム・ペティのステージMCなどがたっぷりと収録されている。

◆今作にはオリジナル曲の曲数を上回るカバー曲が収録されている。こうしたカバーは、トム・ペティが伝説的なソングライターになる以前、大人へと成長しながら音楽への情熱を培う機会を与えてくれたアーティストと楽曲へのトリビュートとなっている。収録されている代表的なカバーは、ボブ・ディランの「Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door」や、J.J.ケイルの「Crazy Mama」、ザ・ローリング・ストーンズの「Time is On My Side」といった楽曲の他、ザ・キンクスやエヴァリ・ブラザーズ、ビル・ウィザース、ザ・バーズ、チャック・ベリー、ブッカー・T&ザ・MG"sといったアーティストたちのカバー曲も網羅されている。また、本作には、ザ・バーズのフロントマン、ロジャー・マッギンと、ブルースのレジェンド、ジョン・リー・フッカーとのスペシャル・パフォーマンスも収録。他にも、「Mary Jane’s Last Dance」や「It’s Good To Be King」といったオリジナル楽曲のエクステンデッド・ヴァージョンも含まれている。
